| dc.description.abstract | Recognising South Africa’s fossil fuel dependence and the need to address climate and development in an integrated manner, Just Transition is high on the policy agenda. In 2020, a Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) was launched, comprising stakeholders from labour, civil society, business, and youth. At COP26 in 2021, South Africa and international partners agreed to the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), a first of its kind financing deal to support the transition to a low-carbon economy and society. | |
